Christmas Gifts, Presents and Stocking Fillers for Guitarists

If you’re anything like me, you’re pretending to friends and family that you haven’t even started to think about Christmas, but secretly, you’ve been pondering over the thought of Santa ramming a spanking new Honeyburst Les Paul Standard down the chimney.

Seeing that it’s only 6 weeks until Christmas, it’s seems only right to start a guitar-based Christmas list. My only hope is that my friends and family read this list (especially with regards to numbers 1, 8 & 10 ;-))!

In no particular order, 10 stocking fillers that most, if not all guitarists would like to receive:

Timber Tones Exotic Picks1. Timber Tones Exotic Wood Picks
£2.99 approx

These plectrums look really interesting. Would love to know how they contribute to the overall guitar sound.

Orange Crush Micro Guitar Amp2. Orange Crush Micro Guitar Amp
£26.00 approx

This classic mini Orange amp is always a winner. Crank some portable Orange sounds at ear-friendly volumes and annoy your granny during the Queen’s speech with a Brian May style solo of the national anthem. Make sure you purchase a set of 9V batteries as a backup though.

Authentically made from the necks of wine bottles. I picked one of these up at the Bristol Guitar Show and it’s great. Chickenbone John is a Cigar Box legend! Wine not included.

Turn your iPhone into a guitar amp modelling jamming machine! Does not work with an iRon (sorry… I’ve been dying to squeeze that joke into a post for ages!).

Fender8. Fender & Gibson Haynes Manuals

This would put the guitarist in your household a step closer in maintaining their favourite Gibson or Fender. It could potentially save them lots of cash long-term in guitar setup fees… if they have the right tools and patience!

Fender Meguiars Instrument Care Kit9. Fender Meguiars Instrument Care Kit

Duesenberg CC Fullerton in Vintage White10. New Duesenberg CC Fullerton in Vintage White
£1549.99 approx

OK, so this isn’t a stocking filler as such (unless you’re truly minted), but this caught my eye recently, I love it and I couldn’t resist adding it to this list. If you’re feeling totally wedged up this year, I couldn’t think of anything better than surprising your family guitarist with one of these! It will sound and play amazingly and is sure to be a “guitar for life”.
