Guitar Jar is maintained by Sam Davis, a UK based amateur guitarist, who’s finding it increasingly difficult to find the time to pursue his passion of playing the guitar and most importantly, turning his amp up loud (11?).

What’s the vision for Guitar Jar?

Guitar Jar is an online guitarist magazine & community that serves to encourage and inspire all guitarists, regardless of musical status and ability. We’re here to promote global guitarist talent and in addition, we like to promote the independent guitar related businesses and organisations, helping to expose their products & services to the guitar playing community. Guitar Jar is very much “by the people, for the people”.

Lewis Turner is the head of guitar at West Herts College as well as teaching on group units such as Music Theory. Lewis is a highly accomplished guitarist, with years of performing, recording, session and teaching experience.

Mark Angel

Mark Angel

New Zealand based Mark Angel is an experienced British guitar and bass player with over 30 years experience of playing electric and acoustic guitars as well as bass in a variety of scenarios and styles. Mark teaches at, and co-manages, a Guitar Studio with 18 teachers and around 180 students. He’s recorded on many studio projects and now runs his own studio from his home.

Dave Walsh is the director of Eternal Guitars and has worked at Andy’s Guitar Shop in Denmark Street, the Guitar Institute in London and has written for Guitar & Bass magazine.

Andy Nash

Andy Nash

Andy Nash is a highly accomplished acoustic and electric guitarist and guitar teacher, with over a decade of UK and international live performance and recording experience. Andy specialises in live improvisation with highly regarded freestyle funk/soul band Bijoumiyo, fronts prog-rock outfit Ten Second Window and also enjoys regular work as a solo classical acoustic guitarist.

Ed Peczek

Ed Peczek

Ed Peczek began studying the guitar in 1996 under the guidance of Adrian and Selina Copley at the Stafford Classical Guitar Centre. In September 2005 he accepted a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and studied with Phillip Thorne (MBE) and Allan Neave. Ed’s interest in music does not stop with the guitar, he has also dedicated a lot of time to studying the psychological impact of performance and the effective management of performance anxiety.

Canada based Warren Greig is is a guitarist and composer who has released two CD’s and performed in Quebec, Vancouver, Toronto and Michigan. Aside from performing in his own group he has appeared as a sideman in small groups and big bands performing at various jazz festivals and engagements.

Philip Hancock

Philip Hancock

Phil Hancock grew up in Dorset and now lives in Hertfordshire. He started playing guitar as a teenager and has never stopped since then. Phil has been in many different bands since he started learning and now teaches students privately.

Anthony Evans

Anthony Evans

Anthony is a graduate in Music and Audio technology with a passion for all things guitar. An experienced guitarist, bassist and mandolinist with experience with many other instruments, he has been teaching and performing for several years. He has a specific interest in the future of guitar technology and computer music (having developed a range of guitar synthesisers and software effects) utilising current technology to further the sonic possibilities of the guitar as an instrument.

Yes you can by submitting our User Reviews Form. All submitted articles will be reviewed by us first prior to being published live, so please try and keep the reviews clean. In addition to sending in your user reviews, you can share your experiences of playing the guitar with other guitarists; whether it’s amusing stories of gigs, tips on learning & developing your techniques, guitar maintenance techniques … whatever the experience, if it’s guitar related, we want to know.
