Guitar Jar Magazine exclusive interview with the incredibly gifted, Will McNicol.
…Do yourself a favour; if you’re seriously into music and if you appreciate finely crafted songs by gifted professionals, be sure to buy their album and watch them on tour…
It’s not often I’m left speechless. In fact, among my circle of friends I’m known to be a guy that is hardly shocked by anything – I’m a WYSIWYG kind of guy that’s goes with the flow.
Recently however I had the pleasure of spending a cold Sunday morning with two incredibly gifted musicians, who I now consider to be a pair of the brightest musicians currently performing; Will McNicol & Luke Selby. My time with them literally left me speechless.
Will McNicol has been on the music scene for a while and has built a reputation as a very accomplished composer, performer and recording artist. His honours include winning the Guitarist Magazine Acoustic Guitarist of the Year 2011 award, but it seems that was just the start of a fantastic career.
My time spent with Will was excellent. He spoke openly with regards to his influences, development, equipment, practising and desire to constantly challenge himself to create fresh compositions.
He’s such an awesome talent, yet incredibly humble. To be quite frank, as I’m writing this I’m struggling to articulate what a genuinely all-round great guy he is. My only regret is that I didn’t steal his techniques! (next time…).
Will McNicol and Luke Selby (who is an incredibly talented drummer) have just released their new album “Hitchhiker” and are due to go on tour imminently at various dates/venues across 2015.
Do yourself a favour; if you’re seriously into music and if you appreciate finely crafted songs by gifted professionals, be sure to buy their album and watch them on tour – IT’s A MUST!
