Ernie Ball Competition

To get extra “balls” in my pocket 🙂

my 10 year old son has just bought his first guitar after saving his pocket money for 7 months. This would add to his new set up

Looks like everybody else is playing the “four hungry children and a crop in the field” routine for all it’s worth, so here goes with mine – every spare penny goes on making sure the kids are alright while my poor old guitar gently weeps. I can’t imagine what Regular Slinky feels like anymore, I’m so used to regular slimy.

Rather like the toilet in the Young Ones asking: “what’s domestos?” I doubt my guitar can remember the last time it had a string change. There’s more life in a Snow Patrol song than there is in my strings.

By the way, I do love the idea that this is a “year’s supply”… given the demands of kids, wives, pensions, hen food, window tax and leaving collections for colleagues I don’t even like, this little lot will have to last me about two and a half centuries…

Given that a few of us have entered, perhaps we can come to some arrangement where we all have a go of them for a month and then pass them on to the next person… we could call it StringShare, a bit like TimeShare only less ropey.

It would be amazing to win this for my brother, hes just finished a very hard year at uni and this would make him very happy!

I got no strings but i blew up my dad’s Blues Junior so I’ve had all my money stopped help!

I think Ernie Ball’s equipment is a load of old rubbish to be honest. The strings break after a few plays, I can’t see myself polishing my guitars, I’ve got a cloth, got a nice sort of leather strap and just don’t really want the stickers or the poster to be honest..

I might be able to sell these on eBay or something though!

Ernie Ball Strings are the only strings I use on my guitars, enough said. I thoroughly trust their gear and have not even considered other brands. Something about this company makes me feel like a rockstar (in completely the non-mainstream, radio-rock definition). Their products let me express my musicianship at it’s fullest and I greatly appreciate them for it. Ever since flipping through my first guitar magazine and seeing an ad for Ernie Ball (The sign language “E, B, Ernie Ball” ad) I knew they were a Rocker’s company. Their strings just feel right.

Ernie Ball is my String Company.

What can I say. . . everyone posting here deserves them more than I do. I’ve been playing (but that’s not what my wife calls it!) for 10 years and haven’t got any better. I won an Ovation Celebrity at Christmas which is lovely but strung with iron bars. . . maybe if I won this I’d sound better. . maybe not but it’s gotta be worth a try hasn’t it?
