I am a student studying for my degree in Professional Musicianship at BIMM Bristol, and as such I’m really poor and can’t always afford to keep both of my Peavey Wolfgang’s as fresh as I would like. I’ve used Ernie Ball strings for my entire guitar playing life and I currently use Regular Slinky and Super Slinky. This would save me buying strings for maybe twelve months which could make the difference between eating or starving for a while (Which is often the case).

My Husband has been having guitar lessons off and on since 1964. He hasn’t had a lot of luck, 1 teacher emigrated, 3 got married and left the area, 1 gave up teaching and 2 died.
Personally I think that it’s God’s way of telling him that he’s not meant to be a guitar player, but he’s so determined. In between finding teachers he spends hours cleaning and tuning his guitar, this would really keep him going.

So… Actually I have enough guitars to be able to use all these strings in a year rather than to use a coupla sets and flog the rest on eBay. And what’s more, these are the strings that I would normally use, so all cool there too. So doesn’t that make me the obvious choice for this?
And what’s more – all my guitars are currently in a container heading for the other side of the world. Apart from the trauma of that, after 6 weeks at sea I’m gonna want to change my strings, yes?

I have a little brother who is INCREDIBLE on guitar.
He’s going to uni this year for 3 years, becoming a skint student AND he’s just been fitted with braces which will last…you guessed it, 3 years. The chances of him getting a girl are slim, but this stuff might mean he can join a band and, as we all know, all of his physical faults will automatically be ignored by screaming groupies.
p.s It’s also his 18th birthday next week. And I haven’t got any money. If I don’t win this, he’s getting a shot. Singular. In Wetherspoons.
