Beryl Studio T – Electric Guitar Review

This review was submitted by Guitar Jar contributor: Colin Doyle

I bought my Studio T in September 2010. I know Phil Preece, the guy behind Beryl Guitars and was aware of how much thought and effort had gone into creating the Beryl range. The original designs and specs were constantly being upgraded and I was certain that the final product would be a very good guitar. I was not wrong.

…The range and quality of sound might just be the Studio T’s best feature. It appears to lend itself to any type of music….

Beryl Studio T

Features:

The Studio T is a beautiful piece of kit. It seemed to take as long for me to choose between the black and sunburst versions as it had done for Phil to settle on the final specs!

Some have questioned the brand name “Beryl“. It’s certainly quirky, but I’m comfortable with it now. When it’s a well known brand, which it deserves to be, it will sound every bit as cool as “Fender” and “Gibson“.

Ease of use:

I’m not a professional player. For me playing guitar is a simple pleasure which acts as a de-stresser at the end of a long day at work.

I find the Studio T to be extremely user-friendly; you can just pick it up and play. Although I check the tuning every time I use it, it rarely needs any tweeking which contrasts with other guitars which I own.

Perhaps the fact that those guitars have become more or less redundant says it all.

Sound Quality:

The range and quality of sound might just be the Studio T’s best feature. It appears to lend itself to any type of music. I have a wide range of musical tastes from blues to heavy rock and even country.

Beryl copes with all without complaint.

Reliability:

Reliability? What can I say? Beryl hasn’t broken, she hasn’t broken me, she hasn’t shown any inclination to leave home and is fully house trained.

Overall Rating:

The Studio T is an excellent product. It has certainly raised my level of enjoyment and ability to create a pleasing sound. I would recommend it to all.

Great guitars, great company, great service, enough said.
