Strymon Timeline Review

Strymon Timeline Review

I purchased this pedal after hearing rave reviews about the original Damage Control timeline and after very good experiences with Strymon’s D-Bucket, El Capistan and Blue Sky pedals.

…Sell every other delay pedal you have and buy this pedal…

I purchased from the first run of pedals released by Strymon.

Features:

The Timeline features a number of different delay types with even more customization within each of the models.

It handles typical delays including analog, digital, bucket, etc but it also has what I call experimental delays including a filter delay, pattern delays and my personal favourite the Ice setting giving you that U2-esque shimmer.

Ease of use:

The Timeline takes a bit of time to get used to but after spending a day with it and reading some of the quick start guide, I got a pretty good idea of how it functioned and I was able to dial up some pretty good pre-sets of my own.

The beauty of this pedal is that the factory pre-sets are so good, you could spend months going through them before you really feel the need to branch out and work on your own pre-sets.

Sound Quality:

A++++ I have never heard a pedal better sounding than this and I have heard few pedals that can equal what this pedal can do sonically.

Its digital reproductions of vintage analog effects sound spot on and the added tweak-ability of each effect type is a definite plus.

Reliability:

No issues yet. I have updated the firmware once as well and it went super smooth. No complaints with any of the Strymon products I own.

Overall Rating:

Sell every other delay pedal you have and buy this pedal.

It really is that good. I cannot recommend this or other Strymon products enough.
