Jaden Rose – Series 2 Guitar Review
April 18th, 2011

I came across Jaden Rose Guitars mostly by accident, a chance Ebay listing led me to investigate the brand more and I’m glad that I did!
…Jadens fret work is exemplary, no other word for it…
I picked up the piece off Ebay (it’s a Jaden Rose Original Series Hardtail) and was immediately impressed by the absolute highest quality of materials and attention to detail, I contacted Jaden about the guitar in question and he happily sent me a load of photos and the history of it, very nice chap!
Needless to say when I was looking for something else, I immediately checked out Jaden’s new Series 2 line, a lower priced but still handmade and designed in the UK by the man himself. A quick demo at a guitar show convinced me that it was the right choice!
Features:
Whilst the Series 2 is deemed to be the more affordable guitar in Jadens range it is still a very fine spec. My particular Series 2 was fitted with a good few upgrades which upped the price a little but still represented extremely good value for a handmade UK built instrument.
The full list of features is as follows:
- Sapele body with hand applied oil finish
- Canadian rock maple neck
- Indian rosewood fingerboard
- Gotoh bridge and tuners
- DiMarzio pots and five way switch
- 2x DiMarzio Injector single coil pickups
- 1x DiMarzio area 62 middle single coil
- This particular spec is now the Series 2 “Pro”
Ease of use:
This is a tone monster! Single coils are not everyone’s first choice but these can handle anything you throw at them, clean up brilliantly on volume knob too.
The neck has a wonderful oil finish that feels instantly fast yet still warm and welcoming, I would suggest the profile somewhere between a modern Strat and an Ibanez Jem, thin enough for faster players but still plenty of meat for those wide bends.
Jadens fret work is exemplary, no other word for it, I literally only tweaked this once and it was away. I like my action a little higher than most but this can be slammed right down with little problem, all down to the attention paid on the fret work.
Sound Quality:
Well, its exemplary, you can really feel the guitar responding to your touch and the pickup combination make it far more dynamic than a standard dual humbucker layout, the sound seems to transfer direct from your fingers to the amp, all the signs of a very well put together instrument.
Reliability:
I’ve had my first Jaden over a year and it has seen many gigs, it has never let me down! Ever! I don’t think this will be any different!
Also the branded cases supplied are tough as you like, extremely good quality Hiscox cases.
Overall Rating:
The overall quality of a handmade UK instrument coupled with Jadens meticulous fretwork, inspired wood choice and beautiful necks make these guitars a pleasure to own.
Highly recommended to all prospective buyers!
